Big Transits are happenings in the sky that last for more than a few weeks. The longer a planet stays in one place, the longer it has to build up power. Since we can't spend all our time star gazing, these are the events that I believe are most worth attention.

If you have been feeling a little tongue-tied the past few weeks, you can blame Mercury retrograde in Libra. Libra is a peaceful, relationship-oriented sign. As Mercury, the planet of thought and communication, flew backward through that sign, we were challenged to think about how we communicate in our relationships--which is another way of saying that if you feel like you've been putting your foot in your mouth a lot lately, you're not alone!

Unfortunately, Mercury is no longer an easy excuse because today it goes direct, but communication may become easier, too.

Before Mercury lets you off the hook, what have you learned the past few weeks about communication? Have you learned anything about diplomacy that you can bring with you?

If this transit has just been hellish for you, breathe easy. Mercury won't go retrograde again until January 6, 2016 when it moves backwards through Aquarius and returns to Capricorn.

PS The Sun is also in Libra. To learn more about these two planets in the sign of the Scales, check out Adam Sommer's post on Holes to Heavens.
